It is weird to think about having 50 or so boxes sitting in my garage, waiting to be packed over the next two weeks. It doesn't make the move any more real--only a signed contract for job or house will do that--but it shows either our faith or presumption that something real will happen soon.
I feel like one of the barren women in Isaiah who were commanded to stretch out their tents in order to receive the children the Lord promised to them. Maybe they got funny looks and outright disapproval from people when they decorated their nursery before they even got pregnant. They weren't fearful of others or the future, however, for the Lord had spoken. In the same way Mark told me to begin packing, and I will do so in cheerful submission to him knowing but not caring about the people who think we're crazy.
