the Teacher Work Day Turned Into a Week

The kids did do school this week, but only such as they could do without much help from me.  I did plan out what I want them to finish before calling this school year to a close, and it looks like we’ll be at the books until April or May.  That’s about right, so we are right on track.

A professional organizer came to our house on Wednesday to give me some ideas about how to better organize our school room so it stays useable.

Thursday was spent making Chicken Parmigiana and Cheesy Chicken Tenders.  I did all the prep work, but not much else.  Outfiited with latex gloves, Ben, Nate, and Grace did all of the dipping raw chicken into egg, butter, and bread crumb mixtures.  We got them all done, ate lunch, and began cleaning up before the big snow hit.  Ha ha.  There were only flurries, but they did stick, and the rule is you run outside at the first sight of flurries because they are never sure to last long around here.

Friday morning Mark, who was off because of the weather, made the kids clean up a bit before heading out to play in the 1/4 inch deep snow.  I made dinner and bagged the flash-frozen chicken.

Tomorrow we’ll implement some of the organizing ideas we got, prepare for the Sabbath, and of course, play in whatever snow remains.

Next week we will head into our school schedule with a wild frenzy, because Patience isn’t going to be taking her morning nap much longer.  AGH!
