Pastor Jim asked Mark today if he would consider teaching a Sunday School class with me. Mark's response? "Bwahaha!"
Why isn't it enough to come to church and train our six children to worship God? Why the You-Must-Do-Something-Within-the-Walls-of-the-Building mentality? Before I had even become a member, my name was put on the 'volunteer' nursery list. If there is one thing I am certainly not going to do, it is work in the nursery.
This idea that since we have kids we should be happy to teach everyone else's kids is nuts. Oh, and since you're a teacher and teach bratty kids all day long, surely you want to come and do it on Sunday, too.
NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. Not doing it. Not now. Not for a really, really long time.

Sounds good to me, this mentality of yours. Fits nicely in with my spirit of justified rebellion today. Rebellion against the "this is the way church is done!" stick in the mud mentality. Aaaahhgggrrhhh.
