Children Say the Funniest Things

A girl (Rachel Puentes, for those who know her) at our church to Mark: "I heard you're going to have a baby by my mom." Oh, really?!

After realizing what she had said was not quite right, she changed it to: "My mom told me to tell you you're having a baby." Mark was surprised to hear that news!

And to completely fix the mess she'd got herself into: "Congratulations."

Then there's my little evangelist Bradford. He knows which of our garbage men love God because he's asked them all. Recently he asked our Jewish neighbor where she goes to church. She responded that she went to a Temple where they read the Old Testament. Bradford was greatly disturbed by this. At dinner that night he told us that he thought it would be boring to read only the Old Testament, and he was going to buy Annie a New Testament so she could read and study it. (I told this to Annie the Jewess, and she her response was interesting: "One at a time. No D. James Kennedy reaching the masses. He'll win them one at a time.")

Now my daughter is saying something not so funny, something like "Unnngh." Which I think means she wants up from her nap.
