The children and I were deeply involved in serious academic pursuits this morning (okay, I was reading The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes to them). The babies were not whining to be held, so I just let sleeping dogs lie, or crawling babies scoot, and continued to develop the imagination and vocabulary of my children. It was then time for Grace's nap and the babies' naps, so I quit and went to round them up.
"Where's Sadie?"
We all scattered and looked in different places--I under the bed and in the toilet, Ben in the washing machine, Bradford under the table, and Nathaniel upstairs. Nathaniel found her. That bad baby had crawled upstairs and rummaged through the bedrooms, knocking over a fan and a trashcan during her solo exploration.
